A few days for growers to come together, share kai, and talk about what actually matters.
I'm one of the organisers behind this hui, and I'm genuinely looking forward to it. This is the kind of gathering I've wanted to exist for a while.

The Aotearoa Growers' Hui 2026 is a weekend bringing together local and regional growers of vegetables, fruits and nuts from around the motu. It's being hosted by Kai Rotorua Inc. at Toi Ohomai Institute of Technology in Rotorua this June.
It's not a conference. It's more like sitting around a table with people who understand what you're doing - swapping knowledge, eating well, and figuring out how we strengthen local food systems together.
Dates
Tuesday 23 June - Thursday 25 June 2026
Location
Toi Ohomai Institute of Technology, Mokoia Campus, Rotorua What we'll be talking about
The programme is still coming together, but these are the conversations we know growers want to have:
Strengthening local food systems
Different business and community growing models
Building a real network of growers across Aotearoa Storytelling and Marketing Finances and Knowing your numbers Wellbeing in the garden
& much more
Who this is for
If you're growing vegetables, fruit or nuts - commercially or planning to be - this hui is for you. Whether you're established or just starting to figure out what a viable growing business looks like, you'll find people here who are working through the same things. Tickets
Tickets are available through Humanitix. Early bird pricing ends today, so if you've been sitting on it, now's the time.
A note from Brit: I'm part of the team putting this together alongside Jenny, Alison, Sarah, Tom, Georgia and Alex. It's been a collective effort from people who care about growing and about the people doing it. I'd love to see you there.
